Awards & Achievements

My name is Caitlin and I have been playing basketball since I was 4 years old. Throughout my junior years, I have always played in Division 1  district club teams, mainly as a point guard. I grew to 5’9″ and now have the versatility to play anywhere from the point guard to shooting forward and defend all positions 1-4 with my speed, and power development. Since u12, I have been identified and selected in the High Performance State Squads, representing South Australia Metro teams in U14, U15, U16, and U18. This year I was selected and given the opportunity to play in the U20 Australian Championships in Queensland, playing against the very best players in the country. I recently played in the Australian U18 Club Classics with my club team, Norwood Flames (we had to qualify for this tournament). This year, with a dedicated attitude and high work ethic, I am now a player in the NBL1 Norwood Flames team in conjunction with U18’s.

I set myself high standards, achieving almost straight A’s throughout high school, accelerated in year 11,  and studied year 12, Stage 2, Physical Education and Research Project achieving A’s. I have ambitions to play basketball at the highest level and aspire to become a basketball team member in a Division 1 College. I have high academic priorities and have narrowed my aspirations but keeping my options open. At this stage, my interests lie in criminology, forensics, law and psychology. I am still exploring my passions and ensuring I maintain a high academic standard.

What I believe makes me stand out is my basketball versatility to play  in multiple positions, but importantly, I can defend anywhere from the point guard to a power forward, with my agility, speed, power and height, 5’9″. I understand the game, have the basketball IQ to read the plays and have been taught the skills since I was 5 years old by highly astute coaches. I have often been asked whether I was right or left handed as it was not evident on the court or trainings. I will always work hard with my high work ethic to continue to learn and improve my game.
